The Court House - On the main square in Lucea
The most striking landmark in Lucea is the courthouse, sporting its grand clock tower. The clock tower was never actually intended to be in placed in Jamaica. It was dispatched to St. Lucia in 1817 but, due to a delivery error, ended up in Lucea. After it had arrived, the residents grew fond of it and refused to send it on to St. Lucia. Instead, they raised funds to purchase the clock for themselves. The lions at the foot of the court house were installed by Sir Alexander Bustamante in the 1960s.
