This 7 mile stretch of sand is the longest beach in Jamaica, waves are usually restricted to a mere ripple on the water's surface and the gradual slope of the sea bed keeps the water shallow (and warm) for a long way.

Most hotels have bars or restaurants which open out on to the beach. The beach is also lined with vendors and boatmen offering watersports (although these traders can be a little too eager to offer their goods and services at times).
