Yam

 The word Yam is believed to derive from to African word nyami, to eat.
 Yams are toxic if eaten raw but safe after they are cooked.

Boiling Yam

 Peel the yam

N.B. - Touching raw yam can cause your skin to itch. To avoid this, rub some oil on your hands before preparing raw yam.







 Cut up in to serving sized portions










 Boil until tender (this should take about 35 minutes)










 Serve
